A Really Good Product – Viper Antivirus Software Critique

No more having a scan pop up to slow your computer down (Yes, I know you can schedule a scan to run at 2AM, but many people shut their computers off at night). I had been running Avira AntiVirus Premium Security Suite, and it worked well enough, but it was always pestering me. I still get a definite short stall when opening documents or some web pages when using the product. Features seem up to date.

Norton Internet Security – 1 User/3 Pc has worked so fine that, at the moment of the installation, even though I had McAfee installed in my system, NORTON detected 4 Trojan viruses that were hidden in my computer and which McAfee had not found. I am very pleased with all the features this program has, including the international monitoring of threats, the automatic scans, live updates and more. So, I felt it necessary to deduct a star for not only the hassle, but also the wastefulness of having to have a boxed copy of the software mailed to me, just so that I could type in the code provided within the box. The product arrived in about a week in perfect condition. In addition, time your install to be close to your current expiration date; otherwise, you are cutting yourself short on coverage. Have been using Norton Internet security for several years and has provided my computers with great security. I got my rebate money in just 3-4 weeks. I seem to recall that McAfee took 3-4 months to fulfill my rebate when I last purchased from them. After that it wouldn’t do anything except update itself. I could run the activation again, and could see on their website that I was registered, but it still said it was expired.

This Norton Internet is recommended if you browse a lot on the internet, it has saved me a couple of times already from Trojans on different pages. I owned Norton products years ago – back when their sole product was Peter Norton Utilities, and was very happy with what they offered. Norton even has a special Facebook App so you can be certain that you will not pick up one of those nasty viral things. I give this product 5 stars.

Tried others when Norton hiccupped a few years back, but they came back stronger than ever. I always use additional free products to augment as no one program catches everything. Norton Internet Security is a great product – it doesn’t bog down any of my computers like some of the competitors’ products. It seems to catch the spyware and occasional viruses I’ve come across in my emails. There is virtually no noticeable slow down (I have a gateway NV79 w/ an Icore5 processor, 4GB of DDR3, and windows 7). When my laptop is idle, the antivirus starts running diagnostics since resources are freed up – not when I’m actually trying to get some work or leisure done.

Norton has improved its product, for the better, making your computer smarter at fighting off nefarious tricks to gain your identity. Norton’s Internet Security is a solid 5 stars, if there is anything wrong, it is minor and it will be covered with the auto-update feature.
